Capital Girls Club
I’m Talia. I live in London and grew up in Palo Alto, California. I’ve always been the friend people call when they’re figuring out how to negotiate a salary or ask for more.
In my own career, and in what I’ve talked about with my girlfriends, we often feel we have to tap into a more intense version of ourselves to show up in male-dominated rooms. I want a place to talk about that, and about making it to the top while leaning into the feminine energy we value in ourselves.
That’s why I started Capital Girls Club: a community for women and non-binary people who want to go further without going hard. Practical advice, for both work and play.
Money is not a dirty word
Wanting to earn more should not be a scary thought, let alone a scary exercise. We share stories on how we’re approaching asking for more, what we turned down, and how to name our value.
Ask for more. Then ask again.
We take up space
In any room, on all stages. We encourage each other to stop shrinking ourselves or undercutting our own ideas.
Don’t wait to be invited.
Were uniquely positioned to succeed in AI
AI isn’t just for people who code. It helps us communicate more clearly and build outside what we already know. Yet research shows women are still less likely to use it at work. That’s a gap in uptake, not ability, and we’re here to close it. We share how we use AI to work smarter, and how it makes the rest of life run more smoothly.
Early is the only advantage left.
Nobody is coming to get you
We go and get each other. We make introductions, support awkward conversations, and share wins and losses.
Hold the door open.
Why join us
You’re here for the conversations you aren’t comfortable having at work.
We have events with speakers who’ve already done what we’re working out how to do. We have specific sessions like improving communication, how to show your value at work, navigating compensation, what to expect when you’re coming back from maternity leave.
And we’re a community for everything in between. This group is invite-only, for women and non-binary people who want to see each other succeed, and are willing to vulnerably share experiences and advice.
My commitment to you: a safe space to talk about any topic, and to leave with something you can use every day.
